I have been a therapist for about 10 years and am licensed in California and Texas. When I graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary, I wanted to learn as much as I could about mental health, so I chose to work jobs that allowed me to get to know people of different demographics, Socio-Economic Status, and with different diagnoses. I had the privilege of conducting therapy in Spanish, being part of a faith based organization, working with the LGBT community, working with victims of crime, and with people of different cultures.
As I continued on my journey to become a more experienced therapist, I became passionate about helping others in regards to self awareness and family dynamics, as I believe these have a correlation with mental disorders. For those reasons, I began focusing on working with young adults and adults experiencing anxiety and depression.
Outside of work, I enjoy running, hiking, and cooking/grilling. I also enjoy spending time with my kids and spouse.
They should know this is a judgment free zone, a place of security, and sanctuary where they are free to express themselves.
Jesus helped people without judging them; He even helped those that society had pushed away. Therefore, because of my personal Christian values I do not judge and I focus on the cause of the emotional distress. This has allowed me to work with the LGBTQ+ community, and with people of different cultures and religions.
